What is the benefit of Soy Candles?
  • Soy candles do not have carcinogen when they are lit.  Paraffin candle is made of petroleum product usually contains carcinogen.  This is a health benefit.
  • Soy candles are virtually soot and black smoke free.   This will eliminate re-painting of ceiling and walls
  • Soy Candles burns longer at a lower temperature.

How to maintain best performance of VEGI soy candle?

Always follow manufacturer’s instructions.   For VEGI soy candles, trim wick between 1/8 – 1/4 inches before lighting the candle each time.   Burn long enough (3 to 4 hours) to create a wax pool that reaches the side of the container the very first time.   Always center the wick before the wax solidifies (see How to extinguish a candle).   Remove the big glob (we call it mushroom in the industry) to prevent carbon build up after the wax solidifies and trim the wick to recommended length.

 How to extinguish a candle?

The best method to extinguish a candle is to use a candle dipper.   When you are ready to extinguish, use the dipper to push the flaming wick into the wax pool that will drown the flame.   Then pull the wick back up with the dipper tip and center the wick.

If you are handy and do not care how the tool looks like, you can use a heave electrical wire or a large paper clip to make your own dipper.   You can see our commercial dipper here.

What safety precautions should I observe?

Whenever you burn a candle, always place the candle (jar candles) on a protective surface such as a tile or a ceramic dish.   This will not only protect the surface the candle is place on such as wood, tablecloth or glass; it will also protect the melted wax if a glass jar cracks.   It is always a good idea to protect you again others if the glass used for candle is not temper proof and heatproof.   In the case of travel tins, due to its lightweight and shatter proof, the bottom of the tin could be hot when the candle is nearly all consumed.
